"The Happiest Place on Earth"

The name for Meixners "The Happiest Place on Earth"- exhibition was inspired by her journey through many parts of the United states 1998, taking consciously photos of these certain feelings of insecurity. Above the entrance of Disney World california is written as a bright advertisement "The Happiest Place on Earth".

"I felt that this is the irony of being a place of my childhood dreams, but for me as an adult it shows rather the illusory, highly artistically imitation of a warm exciting world within the American Dream. I found the landscapes of Northern America miraculously touching, but simultaneously emphasizing the alienated traces of the Western World. On our trip we were sliding down the surface of the leader of the industrial countries. We felt natures pureness and beauty and the powerful fragility of crystal-clear concrete skies."
